“I think that today we are so lucky to have social media channels because you can speak to your customers so easily. You can connect with them immediately with visuals and messaging.”

That was Jenn Low of Wanderlust + Co in an interview with The Star two years ago, when she shared how today everyone is on a level playing field, and has the same channels to communicate their vision with the whole world.

Low famously started her business from her bedroom and went on to earn a clientele list that boasted star studded names like Gigi Hadid, Jessica Alba and the Kardashians.

Born and raised in Seremban, Negri Sembilan, Low has most certainly made her presence felt in the world of jewellery.

Wanderlust + Co is proof that something made by Malaysia can surely be loved by the world.

Earlier this year, The Star reported that Wanderlust + Co had a presence in nearly 30 countries and is stocked across 500 retail partners globally.

Low says: “Most of our customers are from the United States, Europe and Asia, and they are growing everyday.

“To me that’s a true sign that we’ve achieved the vision of the brand which is to create a global digital brand for today’s girl.”

One of the things Low loves best about the job is how technology has enabled her to interact with her customers, no matter where they are from.

“I love our customers – we call them #wcogirlgang (you’ll find them on Instagram),” says Low. “I treat every customer as a friend. I imagine my personal emotions or experiences when I buy something.”

“Facebook is an essential tool for me to connect with our audience the world over. They speak to us everyday about what they like, about what they are passionate about.”

Indeed, even when she first came under the spotlight, she was quoted as saying that it warmed her heart when she heard feedback about how their products had a very “global vibe” about them.

“Our geographic location merely demonstrates that Malaysian brands can compete on all levels.”

No doubt, Wanderlust + Co is proof that something made by Malaysia can surely be loved by the world.
